Training Doesn't Have to be Structured

Training sessions do not have to be this whole production in order to be effective. Us sitting here together while I work on some content is perfect training for a bird that has a history of jumping and flying to attack peoples faces. It shows him that this is how he needs to act and how I expect him to act. The reinforcer is being out and hanging out with me. If he is not being civil, he will go back to his cage and everyone else will stay out. With other birds that I could get close to, I would do station training on the tree and give reinforcers. But Crazy Bird (blue front amazon) isn’t there yet, so we station train in the cage and use his location as a reinforcer when he’s out of the cage.
