“My experience with Melanie has been nothing but exceptional. I have 4 dogs, and my Shiba Inu became food aggressive. We got her as a puppy, and she is the toughest, so she always had interactions with her other sisters. “This is just a note to say that Punky now flies to my finger when I hold it out to him no matter where I am in the room.
The breakthrough came on my birthday, April 12 when he flew to a lure that I was holding in my hand. For a while he only flew to retrieve lures held up in that fashion, but several weeks ago he shifted to just my finger.
When he sits on the edge of his cage door or atop the cockatiels’ cages I am able to come up to him for a step up without having him lunge to bite. In fact, he hasn’t bitten me in months.
He also doesn’t snap at me when he lands on my head.”

“When my father suddenly passed away, we were left with finding a new home for his loved Moluccan Cockatoo named Buddy. We reached out to Fluff and Feathers for education and resources on proper rehoming. Melanie was immediate with aid, and she took over rescue and transport coordination so we could focus on mourning. Within 24 hours, she had rescue placement for Buddy. She helped get Buddy disease tested, as well as consulted with us to improve his life for a fresh start in a new home. She educated us on proper parrot diet, and helped convert his diet to something of higher quality, including fresh foods. She had transitioned him from an all seed diet for 25 plus years to fresh foods and pellets within 2 days. She advised us to increase his mental stimulation through her toy line, which are incredibly high-quality toys that Buddy enjoyed destroying. Melanie was a person we depended on through our families critical time, and she was always available to help in the ways we needed. We cannot thank Melanie enough for all that she did for our family and Buddy.”
