Taking Your Bird Outside

Giving your birds the ability to go outside and get fresh air and sunlight benefits is very important for their welfare. It is also incredibly enriching for them to be outside and experience the sounds and the views.

Although aviaries are ideal for our birds outside so they can really stretch out and fly, as long as they are getting outside when you can, that is all that matters. So, if it’s a smaller travel cage, it is better than nothing!

Harnesses can also give outdoor freedom while remaining safe. Remember, even clipped birds can and still will fly away. Never day “not my bird” and always remember “they haven’t flown away YET.” Taking extra safety precautions is always a good practice to follow so you’re covered no matter the situation.
